I would like to raise awareness of the charity I have set up with my daughter which promotes the use of helmets.

I know that the young have no fear, but my 18 year old son died in 2005 as a result of coming off his longboard. He wasn't wearing a helmet. It might not be cool, and yeah you might feel a dork, but a helmet could save your life....

woodvale
Atlantic
rowing race

Myself and rowing partner have registered for the 2007 Woodvale Atlantic Rowing Race and are now in the process of looking for sponsors to help with financing the project. Given the nature of your business and your own personal background I thought it might be worth contacting you to see if this sort of event would be of any interest to the Extreme group as a brand promotion opportunity.

The cost of embarking on this event is estimated to be in the region of £60,000 and we are now in the process of trying to pull together the funds to help us see it through to completion.
As you would expect, in return for your support we would be offering ample opportunities for brand exposure on the boat shell as well as on kit and on prominent display on the crew and associated websites.
We are in the process of building an event website and most of the relevant information can be found there - atlantic2007.co.uk
Further details can also be found on the race organisers website - woodvale-events.com

Apologies for this direct approach and thank you for taking the time to read this message.

Regards,
Malcolm Sharp

youth
cancer trust

I am writing to you to inform you of a Skydive I am completing on the second of September this year for Youth Cancer trust. This will be my first ever parachute jump and should be an experience of a lifetime.

Every day in the UK, six teenagers will find out they have cancer. The Youth Cancer Trust provides free holidays for youngsters with cancer from all over the UK between 14 and 25 years at Tracy Ann House in Bournemouth. These holidays are a complete break from their treatment and a chance to find comfort and support from meeting others of a similar age and situation. Guests are invited with a brother, sister or friend to share a few carefree days away taking part in a range of exciting activities. The Trust receives no government funding and relies on donations to exist. Each holidays costs a minimum of £400 and this money definitely doesn’t grow on tress.

In April last year a close friend of mine passed away after a five year struggle with cancer. She was 14. The pervious October, the youth cancer trust had provided her and myself with a free week away at its home. This experience gave Beth a well deserved break in her struggle and gave her extra strength and determination to carry on. Beth outlived her expected lifetime by 2 months and I would say this is thanks to the Youth Cancer Trust.

I am writing to you in hope that you would be able to provide some sponsorship or a donation for my course. Of course, I understand that you may have other charities and this I appreciate. If you would be willing to donate some space on your website or channel to advertise the event I would be extremely grateful. Everything is helpful, every penny really does count.

Best wishes to yourself and the team

killing cancer

The objectives for KILLING Cancer?
The two objectives are simple. It is about publicity for PDT and creating the funding to develop the drug treatments. The charity is depending on your goodwill and interest to help it achieve these objectives.
Publicity: The more people hear about PDT, the quicker we will be able to fund the vital new work at the National Medical Laser Centre. It is your pressure, asking your GP and speaking to others to spread the word that will convince all sorts of people to make donations and invest in the developing world of PDT.
We need PDT to be the three letters that everyone is talking about. We need more people to realise that in appropriate cases, PDT can be a real alternative to conventional treatments like surgery and radiotherapy.
We will be seeking to keep PDT in the news agenda for as long as possible, allowing us time to keep lobbying for Government funds, as well as funds and donations from big business that will make the world of difference.
We don’t want to spend your money on funding expensive advertising campaigns. Any money we receive needs to focus on paying the people who will help us to fast-track drug and therapy approvals. That means hiring senior medics to press ahead and prove the theories so the Government will help us to see these new treatments rolled out.

The other objective?
New PDT treatments are already available nationwide, worldwide. With your help keeping up the pressure, we are sure that we can get significant funds in, allowing us to focus on gaining drug and treatment approval for many new cancer treatments. We can do it. We will do it.
And we will have delivered our objectives because you and we care enough about saving lives and finding a better way to treat the living.
