EXTREME INTERNATIONAL STRENGTHENS IT'S PROGRAMMING SUPPLY OF ADVENTURE, TRAVEL AND LIFESTYLE PROGRAMMING GLOBALLY
Extreme International has concluded a number of deals with broadcasters globally in the adventure travel and lifestyle genres. Discovery Latin America have licensed Fishing North Australia (26 x 30 minutes- produced by Network 9 Australia), Core Culture (26 x 60 minutes - Action sports and adventure lifestyle) and Walkers World (24 x 30 minutes ? flagship adventure travel series produced by BSkyB). Discovery Europe have also renewed their rights to Walkers World for a further 2 years.
In addition to the above, two new series signed up by Extreme are starting to show good results already. Anyplace Wild (49 x 30 minutes ? adventure travel produced for PBS in the US) has been sold to Orbit in the Middle East and the newly launched Pan-Asian Network, Alive Networks. Another new series, Weekend Explorer (13 x 30 minute - adventure travel also broadcast on PBS in North America) has been licensed to Living TV Korea, as well as to a number of airlines via Spafax.
PHIL JONES APPOINTED MANAGING DIRECTOR OF EXTREME SPORTS CHANNEL - EUROPE
Phil Jones has been appointed Managing Director of Extreme Sports Channel Europe.
He will have overall responsibility for the channel in all the 20 countries
where it is currently broadcast. He takes up this post immediately.
Until recently Phil was Managing Director of UPCtv's Polish entertainment channel, overseeing their joint venture channels with MTV. Phil was previously an Executive Producer at Planet 24 for whom he launched 'Atomic Television', their music channel in Eastern Europe, and worked on the development of cross-platform programming for European broadcasters.
