EXTREMEPIE.COM TEAMS UP WITH AOL TO OFFER WIDE RANGE OF EXTREME SPORTS PRODUCTS TO MEMBERS
With the winter sports season in full swing Extremepie.com, the extreme sports goods provider and shop for the Extreme Sports Channel, today announced it has extended its agreement to advertise across the AOL UK properties. This new agreement builds upon the success of the previous commercial relationship between the two companies.
Under the agreement, Extremepie.com continues to feature on the Shop@Channel on the AOL and CompuServe subscription services, www.aol.co.uk and www.netscape.co.uk.
Extremepie.com features brand name gear for extreme sports such as snowboarding, surfing, skating, windsurfing, bodyboarding, mountain biking, wakeboarding, BMX and moto cross. Extremepie.com's products will be made available to members of the AOL and CompuServe subscription services in the UK as well as visitors to AOL UK's Web-based brands.
Extremepie.com launched in July 2001 with the aim of becoming the first pan European multi-channel retail network servicing the extreme sports way of life. The first years trading figures exceeded expectations resulting in breakeven being reached at least six months early during Jan 2002.
Extremepie.com's Operations Director Roger Moon says, "Our previous agreement with AOL UK proved very successful and Extremepie.com are determined to continue reaching the more than 1.5 million members of the AOL service. Via this relationship we can promote Extremepie.com and our products from leading brands such as Quiksilver, Billabong and Vans and drive traffic to our website."
Extremepie.com recently received the results of its first eMystery Shopper report. Highlights included results above AOL partner averages for all sections, including scores of 80% and above for first impressions, search, product location, shopping basket functionality, and customer service.
AOL UK Executive Vice President and Co-Managing Director Mindy Mount comments, "We know that convenience and saving time are the main reasons why our members shop online* and our Shop@ Channel provides them with a broad range of products and services in one place. Our members have responded very well to Extremepie.com's offering and the extension of this agreement gives them continued access to extreme sport products within our Sports and Leisure area."
