EXTREME GROUP APPOINTS NEW CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
& HEAD OF LEGAL

Alec Cameron, has just joined Extreme Group as its new COO & Head of Legal, replacing Adam Oliver who has left Extreme after 5 great years, to pursue other interests.

Alec joined Extreme from Express Newspapers, where he held the position of Assistant Director of Legal & Business Affairs, working as the Number 2 in the legal team. Responsible for legal advice across the company’s range of businesses covering a variety of celebrity magazines including OK! magazine and adult, shopping and gaming television channels. Alec also helped to manage the launch earlier this year of a US version of OK! Magazine.

Having studied Law at Cambridge University, Alec holds a masters degree in Media & Intellectual Property Law. He qualified as a barrister in 1998 before moving to Simmons & Simmons, a leading international law firm, then on to Express Newspapers.

Working alongside Al Gosling (CEO), the role entails co-managing the operations of the Extreme Group, to drive it forwards. Liaising with each of the group company’s MDs, Alec will have full responsibility for all legal issues, advising on a mixture of corporate, contract, commercial, media and IP law. He will assist business development, capital raising and M&A.

Commenting on his appointment, Al Gosling said; “In Extreme, it’s all about the people and how they fit our unique, young and ambitious environment. Alec was the obvious choice – he has the relevant skills for the job and the perfect attitude to fit in with the dynamic team.”
